The family man was born in 1963 and has been working as the director of the Fraunhofer Institute for Microelectronic Circuits and Systems IMS in Duisburg since 2006. Since then he is holding the chair for the field “Electronic components and circuits” at the University Duisburg-Essen as well. The physicist studied at the University of Stuttgart and specialized in semiconductor physics and measurement technology. His dissertation was focused on laser diodes. Before 2006, Prof. Dr. Anton Grabmaier worked at Siemens VDO Automotive in Regensburg, one of the world’s leading automotive suppliers for electronics and mechatronics. He led the advance development of sensors and was in charge of product development and marketing on an international level since 1999. Before that he had been working at Valeo Schalter und Sensoren GmbH in Bietigheim-Bissingen as director of sensor and cassette technology.
