Quality management according to ISO 9001

Our quality management system sustainably increases customer satisfaction. It defines quality-relevant processes, specifies responsibilities and assesses risks and opportunities. All employees act in accordance with its principles, resulting in consistent and efficient quality. 

We have been certified according to DIN EN ISO 9001 since 1995, thereby decisively strengthening our research and development work. The standard's risk-based approach is anchored in all our processes and ensures that our projects are highly successful.

Energy management according to ISO 50001

The Executive Board of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft has set itself the goal of reducing its organisation's emissions by 55 percent by 2030 and compensating for the remaining emissions. Fraunhofer will be climate-neutral by 2045. 

As the Fraunhofer Institute for Microelectronic Circuits and Systems (IMS), we are committed to sustainable research and development. Our energy-intensive processes, especially in the clean rooms, require a continuous increase in energy efficiency and the use of renewable energies.

We have been certified in accordance with DIN EN ISO 50001 since 2024, which helps us to continuously improve our efficiency and thus make an active contribution to climate protection.
