The Fraunhofer Institute for Microelectronic Circuits and Systems IMS in Duisburg is one of 72 Fraunhofer institutes and research facilities throughout Germany and part of the Fraunhofer-Gesellschaft, the leading organization for applied research in Europe. More than 26,600 employees achieve an annual research volume of 2.6 billion euros, of which 2.2 billion euros are in the area of contract research. Approximately 70 percent are generated with contracts from industry and with publicly financed research projects.
