In the business unit Biohybrid Systems we offer a large variety of customer benefits to implement your project ideas. This includes all important development phases from the concept design up to the integration of the biosensor into your product. In the first small feasibility studies the sensor concept can often be demonstrated successfully. In addition an extensive characterization of the developed biosensor is carried out regarding sensitivity, specificity and long-term stability. For this purpose there is a fully equipped biolab available.
Starting from the first feasibility studies, the developed biosensor is being integrated into the first prototype or demonstrator in further development projects. For the system integration the business unit Biohybrid Systems can rely on the necessary know-how, e.g. in the field of microfluidics and electronic readout circuits. A key focus of our service offer in the field biohybrid systems is in the development of marker-free (e.g. electrochemical impedance, mass-sensitive MEMS) and marker-based (e.g. optical fluorescence, chemoluminescence) sensors. These are manufactured using state-of-the-art micro- and naotechnological processes in our in-house clean rooms. For the control and signal read out of the biosensors we provide long-term experience in the development of electronic circuits. This also includes our application-specific integrated circuits (ASICs) and wireless communication systems.
